Hobby Projects

(2010) Turkish Deasciifier for Java provides functionality to replace ASCII-only Turkish texts with Turkish letters. i.e. gulusuyorduk -> gülüşüyorduk. It is almost 2000x faster than Zemberek library and distributed under GPL. Derived from Deniz Yuret's Emacs Turkish Mode.

(2010) Turkish-Predictive-Text is an open source project for T9-style mobile input word recognition in Turkish. Uses Zemberek NLP library. Generates all valid Turkish words from given numerical input sequence.

(2009) ffsms is a FriendFeed tool which enables users to post to FriendFeed and Twitter from their mobile phones using SMS (Short Message Service). I'm developer and UI designer of this project. I've experienced in applications of Interactive SMS Technology on Social Networks during this project.

(2009) ffScheduler is a FriendFeed tool which users can schedule their entries and post them when they wish in the future. I've coded the infrastructure of this project. Project is sponsored by Istanbul Cevahir Shopping Centre.

(2007) mySchoolog is an online service which allow students to organize their school life online. I am the project administrator of mySchoolog. Currently, development stage is stopped and the system is working on a stable release. It's been reviewed in 200+ blogs and magazines. mySchoolog is in 18 languages and I organize the whole team which has 20+ people.

(2009) FFSPY is a FriendFeed application which allows users to find out which of their FriendFeed subscribers unsubscribed from them by sending them hourly, daily or weekly reports via e-mail. It is a frequently used FriendFeed 3rd party application and I'm developer of this project.

(2009) FFBlockr is a FriendFeed application. By using this tool, friendfeeders can learn who has blocked them in their network. I'm developer of this project.
(2009) FFSummary is a FriendFeed application which allows users to receive feed summaries consisting of popular posts to you email on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. I'm developer of this project and experienced in RIA development with OAuth protocol, rich e-mail formatting.
(2009) ffOldAvatars is a Web 2.0 tool which lets friendfeed users see their profile pictures they've uploaded so far. In this project, I am responsible for infrastucture and I've experienced in information retrieval from headers in this project.
(2009) When Did You Join FriendFeed is a FriendFeed application which allows users to learn when they started to posting their FriendFeed account. I'm developer of this project.
(2009) Web 2.0 Write is a Web 2.0 tool which is designed just for fun. Users can write any text with icons of famous Web 2.0 services. In this project, I am developer of this project and experienced in image processing and REST API development.

Personal

Born in Dallas, TX in December, 1989. I live in Turkey and I'm working on Computers/Internet for 11 years. During my high school education in Kocaeli Science High School Turkey, I've won several awards in programming and decided to be a computer engineer. My interest areas are web backend development, scalability, mobile application development, social networks and I am enthusiastic about distributed processing, cloud computing, natural language processing and user experience topics.

Currently, I'm a third year student in Computer Engineering department of Bilkent University. I spend my spare time on researching on software engineering, computer science topics and new Web Technologies - Trends.
