I gave a talk at Docker Seattle Meetup with my colleagues Taylor from Hyper-V team and Dan from ASP.NET team last week.

If you are wondering about “Windows Server Containers”, “Docker on Windows” and “ASP.NET on Linux” topics, you can directly jump into the full video and the slides below.

I am very glad Dan and Taylor have joined me; we got tons of wonderful questions from the audience as I anticipated and we had a chance to address those very well. Questions like “how containers are going to run on Windows” are things everybody is curious about nowadays. I hope we demystified some of those now.

In a nutshell we talked about:

  • Windows Server Containers FAQ
  • Docker Engine for Windows Server
  • Docker CLI for Windows Server
  • Demo: docker CLI capabilities on Windows
  • .NET and ASP.NET 5 cross platform story
  • Demo: running ASP.NET 5 on Docker

We really had a full house, thanks everybody for coming in. I am very sure you will be seeing more talks about these topics as the development of in these areas continues.

Special thanks to Nimret for hosting us and the video recording. (And of course thanks to all sponsors helped him to make this happen!)
